Welcome to the Graduate School of Robotics
Autonomous intelligent robots are envisioned to be a key technology for improving transportation, manufacturing and the way we live our life. The PhD program of the Graduate School of Robotics offers a novel perspective to relevant problems in robotics in an inter-disciplinary approach involving engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, computer graphics and also humanities, cognitive and social sciences and law.
The doctorate students of this interdisciplinary program are carrying out research in the fields of robotics, state estimation, control, computer vision, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. In the future, strong links to research from humanities, law, cognitive and social sciences and ethics will further extend the horizon.
The Graduate School started in April 2014 and is hosted by the Autonomous Intelligent Systems group, Department of Computer Science, University of Freiburg. It is supported by the International Graduate Academy of the University Freiburg (IGA) and the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts.
